Hi!, I'm Jane Ohalete

Hello, my name is Jane Ohalete, MSW, RSW, and I am the Owner and Founder of Oakline Therapy and Wellness. I am a Registered Social Worker with a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work and am currently working toward becoming a Registered Clinical Social Worker. This designation will allow me to provide comprehensive mental health assessments using DSM-5 diagnostic criteria.

I am also a Certified SAFE Home Study Writer, offering structured, trauma-informed assessments for families navigating adoption, kinship care, and fostering processes. I believe that the journey toward healing begins with a single, intentional step—and that each person holds the power to move toward meaningful change.

As an African woman, a wife, and a mother of three wonderful children, my lived experiences deeply shape my worldview and clinical practice. These roles inform the empathy, cultural humility, and compassion I bring into therapy, strengthening my commitment to care that honours culture, community, identity, and the complex realities of individuals and families.

My Approach to Therapy

As a culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and non-judgmental therapist, I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and affirming therapeutic environment where clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and respected. I believe healing is rooted in connection, authenticity, and humanistic values.

My work is grounded in collaboration, and I walk alongside clients as they build insight, strengthen emotional resilience, and move toward meaningful personal and relational transformation. I am particularly passionate about supporting children, teens, youth, individuals, couples, and families as they enhance communication, rebuild trust, and cultivate healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and client-centered. I meet each person where they are, honouring their lived experiences, cultural identity, sexuality, faith, and personal strengths. I view clients as the experts of their own lives, and my role is to support clarity, balance, confidence, and self-compassion throughout the therapeutic journey.
